BIS’s Pereira says green QE could distort market
Central banks should focus on financial stability mandate not green QE, says deputy general manager
The deputy managing director of the Bank for International Settlements warns central banks risk “stretching their mandates” too far with regard to climate change.
In a forthcoming interview with Central Banking, Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva notes central banks can only do so much with their existing mandates before they begin to risk a loss of legitimacy.
