SNB expects $50 billion profit in 2019
Rising gold prices and foreign currency assets boosted profits, Swiss National Bank says
The Swiss National Bank expects strong profits of Sfr49 billion ($50 billion) in 2019, in large part due to the rising value of its foreign-currency assets, it said today (January 9).
This will allow the central bank to transfer Sfr2 billion to the Swiss confederation and the country’s regional governments, or cantons.
