Chilean central bank deputy calls for co-operation on climate change
Data collection on physical and energy transition risks and their economic impact is a priority
The Central Bank of Chile is promoting the adoption of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in the financial sector by facilitating data collection and providing analysis, but more collaboration is needed, a senior official says.
Deputy governor Joaquín Vial stressed the importance of climate change for the central bank in a speech on October 14. “In order to fulfil the other mandates of the central bank (price stability, macroeconomic statistics) we have to include ESG factors
