RBI looks to build domestic trust and global clout with new strategy

Central bank seeks return to stability after problems in non-bank sector and political pressure

The Reserve Bank of India will push to become more involved in global financial debates while building trust domestically through communication and robust regulation, its new strategy document says.

The Utkarsh 2022 strategy, unveiled on July 23, envisages strengthened trust, “enhanced relevance in national and global roles”, upgraded technology and improved skills among the RBI’s workforce.
