Angola cuts rates by 25bp as inflation falls
Rate cut is Angola's third within a year
The National Bank of Angola has announced that its monetary policy committee has voted to reduce the country’s policy rate by 25 basis points to 15.5%.
The bank said in a statement on May 24 that the decision to cut rates for the second time in 2019 was due to declining inflation and “the evolution of the monetary base in national currency, the monetary policy operational variable, which contracted 0.54% in the last 12 months”.
