Bank of Jamaica continues with monetary easing
Central bank has now lowered rates three times this year and cut reserve requirements twice
The Bank of Jamaica has lowered its policy rate in the latest in a string of measures to ease monetary conditions in the economy.
The central bank reduced its policy rate by 50 basis points to 0.75% on May 20, following a series of monetary easing adjustments earlier this year aimed at stimulating inflation.
Rates have now been lowered three times this year, by a total of 100bp, while reserve requirements have been reduced twice, by a total of five percentage points to 7%.
