Trump says Federal Reserve should give him ‘some help’

US President says central bank should hold policy rates while he negotiates trade deals

US President Donald Trump again criticised the Federal Reserve for raising policy rates and said the central bank should give him “some help”.

Trump told the news agency Reuters on August 20 that the Fed should support him as the US confronts other countries in a series of trade disputes. “We’re negotiating very powerfully and strongly with other nations. We’re going to win. But during this period of time I should be given some help by the Fed. The other countries are accommodated,” Trump said
