Fehmi Mehmeti confirmed as Bank of Kosovo governor
Parliament narrowly votes to approve interim governor for full-time role
Fehmi Mehmeti has been confirmed as governor of Kosovo’s central bank after a narrow vote in his favour by the country’s parliament, after six months in the post on an interim basis.
Mehmeti joined the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo as deputy governor for financial supervision in September 2013. He became interim governor in September 2017, after Bedri Hamza resigned to become finance minister.
The Kosovan parliament confirmed Mehmeti as central bank governor by a vote on March 15
