UK regulators unveil rules for algo trading

PRA and FCA outline approaches to supervising ultra-fast trading methods

The UK’s financial regulators today (February 12) revealed plans for scrutiny of algorithmic trading, seeking to clarify their expectations for firms using the technique.

The Prudential Regulation Authority put out a consultation paper on governance and risk management requirements for algorithmic trading, while the Financial Conduct Authority published a report on its approach to supervision.
