Food prices are boosting inflation, Ukrainian central bank says

Pressures are expected to moderate in second half of 2017, says NBU

Inflation in Ukraine may be higher than the middle of its target range by the end of this year, the country’s central bank says in an official statement, released on August 10.

Annual headline inflation was 15.9% in July, says the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). This is the fourth month in a row that year-on-year headline inflation has risen from April’s figure of 12.2%, and is a slight rise from June’s rate of 15.6%.

In a previous statement issued on July 13, the NBU said it was confident
