Ugandan governor remains upbeat about country’s growth, as figures show recovery

The governor of the Bank of Uganda remains positive on the nation’s economic performance for 2017, despite output losses negatively affecting growth in the first half of the year.

Speaking in Kampala on May 12, Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile said the central bank’s composite indicator of economic activity showed there was a “rebound” in the third quarter of this year, with an “acceleration of growth” in both services and industrial sectors.
