Gambian governor and deputies dismissed, local media reports
Governor was appointed by recently deposed president
The governor and both deputy governors of the Central Bank of Gambia have been dismissed by the West African country’s government, according to locally based reporters.
The first report appeared in the Gambia’s Freedom Newspaper on May 8, saying governor Amadou Colley had been fired, along with deputy governors Basiru Njiai and Oumie Savage-Simba. Financial supervision director Essa Drammeh was also dismissed, the report said.
