Paper analyses the impact of macro-prudential measures on credit supply of banks
The use of a counter-cyclical reserve requirement and dynamic provisioning scheme had a negative effect on Colombia's credit growth, a working paper published by the central bank has shown.
The authors of Evaluating the Impact of Macroprudential Policies in Colombia's Credit Growth use a loan-by-loan dataset for Colombian banks between 2006 and 2009 to show the country's macro-prudential policy stance has worked as an "effective stabiliser" of credit cycles, with some evidence of the policies
