Tallow controversy forces Innovia to look at alternatives
Use of animal extracts in Bank of England’s new fiver sparks global review
World-leading polymer substrate provider Innovia has come under fire from several of its largest clients following the revelation that animal fat is used in its pioneering guardian substrate.
The Bank of England was forced to make a statement last night (November 30), after complaints from the general public. They were made aware that tallow was used in the production of the UK's new £5 banknote after the question was posed to the bank via social media.
