FSB updates systemic institutions list
Citigroup and HSBC swap places at the top of the rankings
The Financial Stability Board (FSB) published its yearly update of global systemically important banks (G-Sibs) and insurers (G-Siis) today (November 21), shuffling the rankings but not changing the overall lists.
As in 2015, 30 banks were classed as G-Sibs and will therefore have to meet higher capital requirements, carry more loss absorbency and meet resolvability requirements. Within the rankings, four banks were allocated to higher "buckets", while three sank to lower ones.
The top bucket
