BoE deputy says London’s “complex financial ecosystem” would not work in Europe
It is unlikely London's leading position as a financial centre will be replicated elsewhere in Europe following the UK's vote to leave the European Union, a deputy governor from the Bank of England has said.
"It takes an awful lot of time and human capital – it is based around the interaction of financial services and other services," said Jon Cunliffe during an appearance before the House of Lords EU Financial Affairs Sub-Committee today (October 12).
