Stress tests should consider wider range of resilience metrics – BoE article
Metrics including liquidity and funding resilience should be considered as current tests are “less advanced”
Stress tests are likely to develop further by testing banks against a wider range of resilience metrics, an article in the Bank of England's (BoE) latest quarterly bulletin says.
The article, written by Kieran Dent, Ben Westwood and Miguel Segoviano, explains how the usage and prominence of bank stress tests has risen "substantially" in the years following the global financial crisis: "They are now established as a key part of the bank regulation toolkit."
