Sri Lankan central bank defends governor expenses
Central Bank incurs around $663,000 in travel expenses in 2015
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has defended governor Arjuna Mahendran against what it says are allegations he has "misused public funds".
According to a statement put out by the bank, local media have reported on allegations from "members of the parliamentary opposition" stating the governor had "misused public funds".
"The CBSL wishes to state that neither the governor nor any officer of the CBSL has used public money for personal expenses, or misused public funds in any manner whatsoever
