Denmark outsources coin minting to Finland
Mint of Finland wins tender to produce krone coins
The National Bank of Denmark has chosen to outsource its coin production to Finland as part of a push to cut its cash production costs.
The central bank announced on May 19 the Mint of Finland had won the contract to produce all of Denmark's coins for four years, starting in 2017.
The mint claims to be the world's "leading exporter of coins" and the largest manufacturer of coins and blanks in the eurozone.
