Australian inflation likely to remain low for next two years, governor says
"Accommodative" monetary policy appropriate as GDP picks up, Glenn Steven says
Australian inflation "is likely to remain low over the next year or two", the governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) said today (April 5).
The country's economy was "continuing to rebalance following the mining investment boom", Glenn Stevens said.
GDP growth "picked up over 2015, despite the contraction in mining investment", as had lending to businesses.
