Bundesbank publishes data on German ‘closed-end’ investment funds

Nearly half of sector’s assets are invested in property market

The Deutsche Bundesbank has started publishing data on Germany's "closed-end" investment funds sector, it announced on March 7. It already publishes data on the country's much larger "open-end" funds sector.

There were approximately 3,500 German closed-end investment funds in January 2016, the Bundesbank said, with total assets of €82.4 billion ($90.9 billion). By contrast, the Bundesbank said, Germany has approximately 6,000 open-end investment funds with total assets of approximately €1.8
