Banque de France governor wants public reforms
Villeroy de Galhau calls for reforms to labour market
France must reduce its public sector debt and encourage greater investment in risky asset classes, said Banque de France governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau in a speech on January 18.
A "modest, but real" recovery was under way in the eurozone, Villeroy de Galhau told an audience of French banking industry executives.
Growth in France was projected to be 1% in the coming year, below the predicted eurozone level of 1.5%. He said the country was being "penalised" by a public debt-to-GDP level
