Effect of further US federal funds rate normalisation ‘unclear’ – Calafell
The policy normalisation process occurring in the US has removed a major source of concern for many markets, but the implication of further increases in the federal funds rate remains "unclear", a Bank of Mexico deputy governor has said.
Speaking in Mexico City on January 11, Javier Guzmán Calafell reaffirmed Mexico would continue to implement a "credible" monetary policy in a "highly uncertain environment", but maintain an "adequate monetary policy framework" to ensure a "gradual strengthening"
