Eurozone macro-prudential policy should be ‘streamlined’, says Belgian director
Mathias Dewatripont praises shared responsibility as a ‘clever idea’ at ECB forum
The processes surrounding the conduct of macro-prudential policy in the eurozone should be "streamlined" as much as possible, Mathias Dewatripont, an executive director at the National Bank of Belgium, said today (November 4).
Speaking at the European Central Bank (ECB) forum on banking supervision, he highlighted the complexity of the policy area, which stems from the involvement of both national and regional bodies.
He said it was "important" there was a national component to the framework
