Global indicators can boost inflation forecasts in short term, paper finds

Global inflation indicators and Brent oil price used to augment domestic forecasts

Over a one and 12-month horizon indicators of global inflation could play a major role in providing information for future domestic inflation rates, a working paper published by the Central Bank of Chile finds.

Carlos Medel, in Fuelling future prices: oil price and global inflation, analyses the extent to which global inflation and the Brent oil price provide "valuable information for future domestic inflation rates" in a sample of 53 countries.
