Lagarde calls for ‘new multilateralism’ and pledges to move ahead on reform programme

Global policy agenda released ahead of Spring Meetings

Christine Lagarde today called for a "new multilateralism" to integrate emerging and developing economies into the international financial system, in her global policy agenda for the coming year, released in time for the IMF's Spring Meetings this weekend.

She pointed to the "impact of asynchronous monetary policies on currencies and capital flows" as an indication of the need for greater international financial co-operation.
