Global FX reserves down, dollar allocations up
Valuation effects push USD portion of allocated reserves higher while EUR slips
Global foreign exchange reserves dropped in the fourth quarter of 2014, according to data from the International Monetary Fund's Currency Composition of Official Foreign Exchange Reserves (Cofer) data, released on March 31.
The share of allocated reserves in dollars has climbed higher to 62.8%, at approximately $3.826 trillion, from 62.4% in the third quarter. Allocations in the euro slipped to 22.2%, at $1.35 trillion, from 22.6% previously.
