Leaving the eurozone is "not an option" for Greece, central bank governor Yannis Stournaras has argued, as it would push the cash-strapped country into another deep recession.

After six years of recession, the Greek economy grew by 0.8% in 2014, and Stournaras believes the country is on the cusp of returning to a "steady growth path" in the next few years.

He told an audience at the Hellenic Observatory in London on March 25 that realising this vision would require staying in the eurozone, as
