UK inflation, already at record lows, is likely to fall further in the coming months and could turn negative, governor Mark Carney said today.

"Inflation is at its lowest level since the introduction of inflation targeting two decades ago," Carney said at a press conference for the Bank of England's (BoE) latest inflation report. "It will likely fall further, potentially turn negative in the spring, and be close to zero for the remainder of the year."
