Basel Committee issues enhanced disclosure standards

Revised rules aim to make comparisons easier

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) yesterday issued its final standards for disclosure requirements under Basel III.

The rules aim to make it easier to compare banks' risk-weighted capital levels, even or perhaps especially where these are determined by internal modelling. A set of compulsory templates require banks to submit at least part of the information in the same format.
