Rohde mulls higher capital requirements if Denmark stays out of bank union

Danish banks could be subjected to higher capital requirements if the country stays out of the European banking union, National Bank of Denmark governor Lars Rohde is warning.

"If Denmark chooses not to join the banking union, we should carefully consider whether capital requirements for the largest Danish banks are sufficiently high," Rohde said today, in a statement published on the central bank's website.
