MAS chief sees SWFs struggling with secular stagnation
Non-traditional investments can help tackle lower returns
Sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) need to take action if they are to avoid being caught between lower returns and taking on too much risk, according to Ravi Menon, the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) managing director.
Menon pointed to a number of "secular trends" that have left SWFs struggling to cope with the "widening gap" between their financing needs and financial returns.
