Thailand’s central bank governor warns on risks of US rates normalisation
Prasarn Trairatvorakul says the market is prepared for an interest rate growth
Bank of Thailand governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul has warned the "expected US interest rate normalisation after the recovery of the US economy" could lead to "capital flow volatility" in the country – adding his voice to the chorus of emerging market central bankers.
In a speech yesterday at the Thai Forum 2014, held in New York, Prasarn argued this is a notable risk that "must be addressed and closely monitored over next year", even though the country's economy "is anticipated to recover after
