Poloz: attempts to influence exchange rate would ‘do more harm than good'

Attempts to influence the price of the Canadian dollar would do more harm than good, Bank of Canada (BoC) governor Stephen Poloz said in a speech in Drummondville, Quebec, yesterday, adding that it is only in the event of an emergency that the central bank would consider intervening in currency markets.
