CPSS renamed the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures
Renamed CPMI to better reflect ‘actual activites'
The Bank for International Settlements' (BIS) Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems (CPSS) has been renamed and given a new charter, the Basel-based organisation announced today.
"At their meeting in June 2014, the central bank governors of the BIS ‘Global Economy Meeting' (GEM)" – a supervisory body comprising 30 governors of central banks that account for 80% of global GDP – "decided to rename the CPSS as the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI)" in June, the body said
