Central Asia's central banks should shift attention to communication strategies – IMF

IMF cautions Middle East against too loose monetary policies

Central banks in the Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) should consider placing greater emphasis on how they communicate monetary policy, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) argues today in an update on the economic situation in the regions and the Middle East.

The Fund commends CCA countries for "emulating best practice monetary policy frameworks" – albeit to a "varying degree" – like giving central banks greater independence and improving the collection and dissemination of national statistics
