NY Fed vice-president on the evolution of Fed monetary operations

The Federal Reserve has developed and tested several monetary policy tools in recent years, including term and overnight reverse repos and the Term Deposit Facility (TDF) that tightens control over short-term interest rates by increasing competition in the market and diverting deposits from banks, Federal Reserve Bank of New York executive vice-president Simon Potter said in a speech yesterday.
