Taper surprises could cause more volatility, warns Mexico deputy

Mexico's central bank was surprised by the Federal Reserve's decision not to 'taper' its asset purchases last month – and uncertainty over the future course of US monetary policy means "new bouts of volatility cannot be ruled out", according to Bank of Mexico deputy governor Manuel Sánchez.

Addressing the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce in New York on Friday, Sánchez said there are "no clear signs of financial disequilibria in Mexico that might have arisen as a consequence of portfolio
