Summers trails Yellen and Fischer in Central Banking Fed poll

Vice-chair of the Federal Reserve Janet Yellen is the runaway favourite among readers of CentralBanking.com to succeed Ben Bernanke in the top job at the Fed, with the man widely held to be her biggest rival for the job, former US Treasury secretary Larry Summers, relegated to an also-ran.

Yellen picked up 41% of the votes, a resounding endorsement from her central banking peers around the world. In second place, with 21%, is Stanley Fischer who recently left the Bank of Israel after eight
