UK mulls US-style bank stress tests
Public policy officials in the UK are looking at plans to make banks in the country perform vigorous new stress tests whose results would be publicly disclosed alongside any remedial actions required by supervisors, in a bid to shore up confidence in the financial system.
The Financial Policy Committee (FPC) of the Bank of England has already raised the issue of pursuing ‘US-style' stress tests and is expected to decide whether or not to proceed with such a scheme in the next few weeks. The
