Martowardojo sworn in as governor of Bank Indonesia

The former Indonesian finance minister, Agus Martowardojo, was sworn into office as the new governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) today.

He set out five areas of focus: inflation and price stability, stability of the financial system, the smooth transfer of powers from the BI to the newly formed Financial Supervision Authority (FSA), efficiency of the payment system, and improving the functioning of the BI.
