Central bankers back equity investment for reserves

A convincing majority of CentralBanking.com readers believe central banks are right to invest a portion of their reserves in equities.

In our poll, 63% of the 200 respondents said central banks should invest in equities, though readers were split over how much.

Most readers advocated a relatively cautious approach, with 19% of the respondents suggesting central banks should invest between 0–5% of their reserves into stocks, while 20% said 5–10% would be more appropriate.
