BoE chief economist warns against inflation complacency
Spencer Dale, the Bank of England's chief economist, today warned against an increasing sense "that inflation is somehow yesterday's war" and central banks should focus more on growth.
Dale said the BoE had provided support to economic growth in recent years by accepting higher inflation, but said it would be "dangerous talk" to consider prioritising growth over achieving low and stable inflation in the longer run.
