RBI’s Subbarao bemoans contradictory demands on central bank
India is facing "unique growth-inflation dynamics" that create an especially difficult environment for policy-making, Duvvuri Subbarao, governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), told an audience at the London School of Economics on March 13.
The RBI has come in for criticism as Indian growth slows but inflation remains persistent. Subbarao said he expected growth this year to dip to 5%, which he conceded looked good compared with many countries, but was down from a pre-financial crisis peak
