BoE's King urges RBS break-up
Regulatory efforts should be judged by their ability to end the too-big-to-fail problem, according to Mervyn King, the Bank of England governor, who today urged the UK's finance minister to split up the part-nationalised Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
King said he was "very pleased with the significant progress" made in the UK towards restructuring the banking system, ensuring banks are sufficiently capitalised, and compiling a domestic resolution scheme. Internationally, however, he said
