Korean paper draws macro-prudential policy lessons from history of the 2000s

A new working paper published by the Bank of Korea (BoK) has taken a retrospective look at macro-prudential policies followed in Korea in the 2000s, drawing implications for how such policies might be followed by the BoK now.

The paper, The Operation of Macroprudential Policy Measures: The Case of Korea in the 2000s, written by BoK senior research fellow Jong Kyu Lee, finds that in spite of operating several macro-prudential policy measures throughout the last decade, Korea was unable to shield
