Norway’s SWF adds further $560m of property to portfolio

The Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global today revealed it had purchased a 50% stake in the Meadowhall shopping centre in the UK for £348 million ($560 million).

A spokesman for Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), an arm of the central bank responsible for managing the sovereign wealth fund, said the purchase was made as part of efforts to increase the proportion of the fund invested in real estate.
