Japan’s Nishimura says UK Funding for Lending scheme needs time to work

A deputy governor of the Bank of Japan (BoJ), Kiyohiko Nishimura, said the Bank of England's (BoE) Funding for Lending scheme will take a long time to produce "concrete benefits", in a speech delivered on August 27.

Speaking at an event at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, he compared the BoE's scheme with the BoJ's Growth Foundation Strengthening Facility (GFSF), saying they share a "similar purpose". The GFSF attempts to enhance potential growth in the medium to long run, Nishimura
