Denmark names new governor
The National Bank of Denmark has named Lars Rohde to succeed governor Nils Bernstein, when he retires next year. Bernstein, who has run the central bank for more than seven years, will leave the role when he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 70 in January 2013.
Incoming governor Rohde previously worked as an economist at the central bank between 1982 and 1985 but most recently has run the ATP pension company responsible for paying lifelong pensions to 4.6 million Danes. Rhode's nomination
