Asian Development Bank opens office in Myanmar

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the beginning of August revealed it had "taken another step toward re-engagement with Myanmar by opening an office and dispatching staff in the country".

The ADB has not had operations in the country since 1998, although Myanmar has participated in ADB-assisted regional activities since then via its membership of the Greater Mekong Subregion programme.
